Greetings Chimacum Community:
In 2018 voters approved a six year, eight million dollar capital levy. This levy replaced the expiring 2012 capital levy. Since passage of the levy, using the District’s facility analysis as a guide, numerous projects have taken place to improve the look, safety, and functionality of both campuses in Chimacum Schools. Tax collections for capital projects come in twice a year. The projects below are constructed without bond debt.
I want to thank everyone for a smooth start to the school year. This fall, we expect to wrap up the capital projects. The last remaining items are the completion of the renovated bathrooms on the main campus, in addition to a new elementary commons and library. Hoch Construction is doing a great job – well worth the wait. Our staff worked together posting and teaching expectations for behavior. This is what we are calling positive behavior intervention – and the results are paying off. Each of our schools has been impacted by new grades, new leadership, or new office staff, flexible and committed to accomplishment. If you have not seen the results of the new configuration or the construction, please let us know so we can give you a personal tour.
The Washington State Department of Health has provided us with an updated IMMUNIZATIONS CHART, which outlines what is required for the 2019-20 school year. Please take a look and ensure your children are up to date with their immunizations.
The Jefferson County Public Health Community Prevention and Wellness program requests your participation in taking an annual SURVEY to help them determine programming plans. Please click "Read More" for workshop opportunities.
