Tina Grewell has been a music educator for the past 30 years.
She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from Cornish College where her emphasis was Vocal Performance. Mrs. Grewell received her music teaching credentials from the University of Washington and continues her education as a Master Choral Conductor with the Bonner Institute in California.
Grewell’s first 19 years of teaching were spent in the Snoqualmie Valley School District where she taught general music and directed youth choirs. For the past 9 years she was the choral director at Beaver Lake and Pine Lake Middle Schools in the Issaquah School District where she taught five large youth choirs daily. Her students and choirs continually received top awards and honors.
Currently Mrs. Grewell is excited to be teaching music in her hometown of Chimacum WA! This year Tina will be teaching grades K-2 and 6-12 and is honored to be directing the high school choir and middle school choirs as well as the elementary students in grades K-2.
Mrs. Grewell is also a private vocal instructor for middle/high school students and adults and a former member of NW regional choir “Breath of Aire” with whom she has traveled and recorded with throughout the US and Europe.
Mrs. Grewell is also the former director of the Port Townsend Community Chorus for the Fall season.
She is also an active member of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) and the National Association For Music Educators (NAFME) and was a manager for the youth honor chorus for WMEA conference as well as an adjudicator for state and regional competitions.
Mrs. Grewell resides in Port Townsend Washington with her husband Larry where she is also a fitness fanatic and enjoys working out. Tina and Larry have 3 grown children and are excited to be new Grandparents!
