Inclement Weather Information

Conditions: Situations involving ice, snow, power outages, windstorms, and flooding.

Changes to schedules: Changes to school schedules may be necessary, resulting in the closure of one or more schools for the day, a late start time, and/or an early dismissal time.

How we decide:  The Chimacum School Transportation and District staff survey the local road conditions between 3:00 and 4:00 AM on days when snow and ice are on the ground or predicted.  Current weather conditions are taken into consideration, as well as reviewing outlying county roads and checking with neighboring districts.  The superintendent determines the feasibility of safely transporting students to and from school, no later than 5:00 AM.

We will avoid changing the call, if possible, however weather conditions or power outages may dictate a change.
