Keep your creek healthy

Chimacum Middle School keeps Chimacum Creek healthy by testing it, and planting trees every year. Here are some things you can do to keep your creek healthy:

Don't walk in the water you can kill fish eggs without knowing it

 

Every year our school works with the Northwest Salmon Coalition

to find how healthy the creek is by the test results our class gets. These results

come back to us in April but, we tested earlier then the years in the past. These are called

B-IBI results here is what we got back from the NWSC

2007 - 20
2006 - 20
2005 - 14
2004 - 22
2003 - 18
2002 - 16

These scores are out of a possible 50 where
10-24 is low biological integrity
25-39 is moderate biological integrity
40+ is high biological integrity
