This is a picture of Cody and Olivia working at Dewatto Olivia is holding the results sheets and on her lap is the ice tray. Cody is looking in the Microscope at the bugs in the petri tray.

In bug group we put a 500 micron mesh net in the water to capture and filter out bugs. We filter them out in to a Petri dish and then put the dish under a microscope. We use the microscope to identify the bugs and then write down on our results paper what we caught.

We used the waders to go in the water and not get wet to use the net. The scraper is used to scrape in between the rocks to disturb all the little critters in between the rocks so they’ll go into the net. We do that for two minutes and the other person times you.

We use the tweezers to pick up the bugs so we don’t squash them with our fingers.

We tray is to put the bugs in and sort (organize) them out into.
