What we used to test Chimacum creek, Hama Hama and Big creek's waters.

For Nitrates and Phosphates materials used are:

you would need sample water from the place you are testing.

3 test tubes

Nitrate reducing regant, and phosphate acid regant.

you'll need an pipet.

1 gram spoon.

Mixed acid regant

Lamotte Axial reader code 2071

and you need a water ampoule.

Now this is the recipe to test nitrates and phosphates in water so you can test it to.

Nitrates

1. Fill test tube to 2.5 mL line with sample water.

2.Dilute to 5 mL line with *mixed acid regent*. cap and mix. wait 2 minutes.

3. use 0.1g spoon to add one level measure (avoid excess)of *nitrates reducing regant.* Cap and invert 30-40 times in one minute. Then wait ten minutes.

4. Mix and remove cap. Insert test tube into the Lamotte Axail reader. Match the sample color to a color standard. Record as ppm.

This is the Phosphate recipe:

1. Fill test tube to the 10 ml line with the sample water.

2. Use the 1.0 ml of Phosphate acid regant cap and mix .

3. Use 0.1g spoon to add one level measure of Phosphate reducing regant cap and mix until dissolved. Wait 5 minuts.
