Hard Water

Hard water is not solid hard like you are thinking.
Its water that makes pipes rust faster & it is harder to lather.
Hard water has more minerals in it then soft water and less contrast then soft water.
But there is no evidence it is harmful to humans or animals. Magnesium and calcium are the minerals in hard water.This shows what is soft o what is Hard.

* Soft: 0 - 20 mg/L as calcium
* Moderately soft: 20 - 40 mg/L as calcium
* Slightly hard: 40 - 60 mg/L as calcium
* Moderately hard: 60 - 80 mg/L as calcium
* Hard: 80 - 120 mg/L as calcium
* Very Hard >120 mg/L as calcium

Soft water
Soft water is better than hard water. It is easier to lather with. People Prefer soft water. Ion exchange helps soft water stay clean and soft. In soft water you put in stuff like lime and negatives attract positives and the negatives take magnesium and calcium out.
