Flow rate is the rate of which a body of water moves at a given point. When flow rate is measured in rivers or streams it is normally measured in cubic meters per second. Flow rate is very important. The tool you are supposed to use to take the flow rate of a moving body of water is called a flow rate sensor. That is the tool we used to take the flow rate. When we used it we hooked it up to a thing called a palm pilot .The palm pilot has a screen and it shows us the data. We take the flow rate for about 1 minute. The palm pilot shows us the data, when it goes up and down.As seen in the picture below.
