D.O job

For D.O we used our D.O laMotte kit.

First we put water into the bottle.

Then we added 8 drops of manganous sulfate and 8 drops of alkaline iodide.

Then we shook the bottle. the liquid grew flaky.

After that we put a scoop of sulfamic acid.

The liquid turned yellow,or orange after we shook it.

We filled the titration tube to the 20 ml line with water.

We used the depress plunger and filled up the plunger with sodium thiosulfate.

We filled the tube up until it went passed the 0.

Then we slowly depressed the plunger in the titration solution until it turned to a very pale yellow.

Then we put the thiosulfate in the titration tube then the water turned yellow.

The we added 8 drops of starch indicator then it turned a dark blue.

Then we used the titrater into the titration tube until the blue was clear.

Once the water sample is colorless do not put any more thiosulfate in.

Wherever the level the thiosulfate is at in the plunger that is your amount of D.O in your water.

These are pictures of our kits. We only used 2 kits. They were D.O and wide range pH.
