home Permanent hardness
| Permanent hardness
is hardness (mineral content) that can’t be removed by boiling water.
It is usually caused by the presence of calcium
and magnesium sulfates and/or chlorides in the water, which becomes more
soluble as the temperature rises. Despite the name, percent hardness can
be remove using a water softener or ions exchange
column, where the calcium and museum ions are exchange with sodium ions.
