Pollution

Pollution means something bad or harmful is making something contaminated. Chemicals are pollution and sewage that is untreated is pollution too. A spill of oil and other chemicals is pollution. Pesticides are bad too (Pesticides is a chemical the farmers put on their crops). All of this is harmful if you drink too much of it and contaminates the water it is in. If we don’t have a healthy stream then the fish will die and we will run out of fish to eat!

YOU can help this if you do the right thing. You cannot dump garbage on the road or streams. It could travel off and hurt fish or other animals. You can stop dumping chemicals in the grass because it travels in the ground water and goes into streams and rivers.
You can fix it by putting some special chemicals in the water (ask a professional) and they take out pollution. Some plants do that too.
