We have now entered the USGS laboratory. The scientists here who study phosphates have agreed to help us learn about phosphates. So far they have told us that phosphates are not toxic to people or animals unless they are in high levels of phosphates also phosphates are one cause of pollution in lakes and streams. When lakes or streams have to many phosphates, it can grow into clogging the pipes or streams so fish can’t get through. The phosphates can be from septic tanks, run off from fields, and waste waters. What really scared us was when Dr. Spongebob told us that to many phosphates could cause humans in the future to have digestive problems. That all seemed sooo interesting don’t you agree?
