Is your creek to slow? Too fast? Flow
rate is the
amount of water moving through a specific location. Based on your results,
you can tell how your creek is doing.
How to Test for Flow Rate~
1. Plug in “Flow Rate Sensor”
into probes empty channel.
2. Turn on probe.
3. Using stylus press on “Sensors.”
4. Press “Sensor Set-Up.”
5. Press on the channel your sensor is in, and then scroll
down to “Flow rate.”
6. Press on “Ok.”
7. Press “File”, then “New”, then press on the small
graph in the top right corner.
8. Press the play button below the screen.
9. Let probe collect data for desired amount of time,
in testing water.
10. Press the stop button on the bottom left corner, then “Analyze”,
then “Statistics”, then “Flow rate.”
11. Draw your prediction by dragging the stylus across
the graph.
12. Determine the amount of meters per second by studying the “Mean.”
13. Repeat if needed.
