Mr. González's Science Online Progress Reports
Welcome to Mr. González's online progress reports. Accessing your child's progress report online saves paper and gives you a view of what your child is learning in Science by viewing the Science standards (here are the 6th grade Science Standards and here are the 8th grade Science Standards) for the current school year.
If you need more information on what your child is learning in Science please visit my HW/Daily Activities webpage where I record what we do in class each day. You can see exactly what your child is learning and I post deadlines there as well. To see what your child is writing in Science class visit our class blog and find your child's name. If you look on your child's blog you will see a section named Assignments. Every assignment your child has been assigned is there. Clicking on each assignment will give you a description of the assignment with sample blogs from all the students. You can see very quickly and easily which assignments your child has done and which assignments your child still hasn't completed! Ask your child what has happened to the assignments that aren't done yet. Your child can complete those anywhere he or she has Internet access. Please leave your child comments on the blogs he or she has completed. They love getting comments on their work.
Seeing your child's work and asking your child what he or she is learning is much more valuable than these progress reports so use the standards to know what to ask your child about what he or she is learning. Knowing the standards gives you an idea of what to ask. The standards we are learing are very general and we will be learning about them in several ways over many weeks. So if your child isn't quite detailed yet in his or her responses I hope that as we learn more and do more the responses will improve and become more detailed. That's what I'm looking for in class!
