Hello! My name is Michele Kaster and I have been a Counselor since 1997, I began my career in Community Mental Health as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I worked as a Prevention Interventionist through OESD 114 in the Elementary levels and became certified as a School Counselor. Throughout my career I have worked in both Mental health as a Child and Family Therapist, and a School Counselor in both the Elementary and High School settings. I joined Chimacum School District 2015-2016 school year. My varied experiences allow me to connect with children/ families and work to decrease stressors on students to enable them to engage in their learning.
I am Married and have two teenage children. When I am not at School you will find me hiking, gardening, listening to live music, cooking and playing on our local beaches.
I am happy to return to School Counseling and have some new programs kicking off this year. I will be introducing Meaningful Work jobs at the Elementary. Second Step and other Social Skills lessons will be taught to increase students problem solving and communication skills from K-5th grade. Small groups will also be offered this year. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Looking forward to meeting you!
