SBAC Testing. This is different from MAP testing that we’ve done earlier in the year. MAP (Measure of Academic Progress) testing is conducted throughout the year to track a student’s progress. SBAC testing, which occurs only in May, is a state requirement. Once a student gets to high school, satisfactory SBAC scores are required for high school graduation. Please encourage your student to be ready for testing by getting a good night’s sleep, arriving on time and eating breakfast. Test dates are May 14, 15, 20 and 28-30. Please help us stay on track by scheduling appointments after school or on other days of the week. Our school scores will show on our State Report Card on the OSPI website next year.
Next Year Scheduling is happening NOW!
Parents of 8th Grade Students: Please ask your students about their registration for 9th grade classes. They completed a tentative schedule to review with you at home. If you haven’t already done so, please return the forms ASAP.
Parents of 6th and 7th grade students - please look for scheduling paperwork coming home this week, due back Friday. Our schedule of electives for next year's 7th and 8th graders is very tentative at the moment. Students are likely to be assigned a rotation of PE with other exploratory classes. Teachers are still being determined. What students need to decide:
#1 - Are they going to take Band or Choir
#2 - Are they going to play a sport next year with the possibility of a PE waiver
#3 -Next year's 8th graders who are interested in taking HS Language and have strong English skills (SBAC and MAP scores are high), can indicate an interest in early language electives.
