Hello! My name is Michele Kaster and I have been a Counselor since 1997, I began my career in Community Mental Health as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I worked as a Prevention Interventionist through OESD 114 in the Elementary levels and became certified as a School Counselor. Throughout my career I have worked in both Mental health as a Child and Family Therapist, and a School Counselor in both the Elementary and High School settings. I joined Chimacum School District 2015-2016 school year. My varied experiences allows me to connect with children/ families and work to decrease stressors on students to enable them to engage in their learning.
I am Married and have two teenage children. When I am not at School you will find me hiking, gardening, listening to live music, cooking and playing on our local beaches.
I enjoy working with students, families and our incredible staff. Second Step and other Social Skills lessons will be taught to increase students problem solving and communication skills from K-6th grade. I also teach Bully Prevention each fall, and in the springtime, I teach a Safety Curriculum. The curriculum I teach gives students active practice through role play and teaches specific language that help students communicate to others when they need help or support. Small groups will also be offered this year. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Looking forward to meeting you!
