I want to thank everyone for a smooth start to the school year. This fall, we expect to wrap up the capital projects. The last remaining items are the completion of the renovated bathrooms on the main campus, in addition to a new elementary commons and library. Hoch Construction is doing a great job – well worth the wait. Our staff worked together posting and teaching expectations for behavior. This is what we are calling positive behavior intervention – and the results are paying off. Each of our schools has been impacted by new grades, new leadership, or new office staff, flexible and committed to accomplishment. If you have not seen the results of the new configuration or the construction, please let us know so we can give you a personal tour.
School Safety Reminder: We have an anonymous reporting tab on our district website, www.csd49.org that is open year round, 24/7. If you know of a safety concern or potential threat, by all means, send in a report. Help us prevent all acts of school harassment, bullying, and potential violence.
School Board Elections, November 5: Remember to vote or register to vote if you have not done so already. The county elections office can be reached at (360) 385-9117. There are three open offices up for election this fall. A forum will be held by the League of Women Voters at 6:00 PM on October 14, at the Tri-Area Community Center, 10 West Valley Road, Chimacum.
Thank You’s to:
Margaret Garrett and our food service staff for providing a nutritious lunch for all staff on their first day back, August 26.
Henry Florschutz and staff for making all the room and facility changes go seamlessly.
Elementary Principal Jason Lynch for his strong weekly communications and adding sixth graders to an exciting elementary program.
Primary Principal Kyle Ehlis for a great start and full house of our youngest students.
East Jefferson County Rotary Club for donating and installing a new outdoor classroom on the main campus.
Thanks to everyone for a great start to the school year!
