Message from Superintendent Mauk

Message to Families 5-20

May 20 2022

Dear Chimacum Families,

As you may have heard, we will have some administrative changes next year. Building administrators leaving for new opportunities is typical- having so many leaving at once is less typical, although not unheard of.

While I will miss my leadership colleagues very much, I am looking forward to bringing on new leaders with vision, purpose, and perspective that we may not yet have. I am optimistic that, despite challenges such as the housing shortage, we will attract fantastic leaders who will continue the great work we began this year.

We have begun advertising these new positions as we solidify roles and job descriptions. I have met with staff to discuss their aspirations. We have already begun recruiting candidates. Our plan is to screen, interview, hold community forums, and select finalists beginning around June 8 to select our new principals from the finalists before the end of June.

It is an exciting time!

Warmly.

Dr. Scott Mauk, Superintendent
