SCHOOL BOARD
School Board Information
The Chimacum School Board meets regularly on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month starting at 6:00 PM. The meeting on the 2nd Wednesday will typically be a work study session while the meeting on the fourth Wednesday will be the regular business meeting. During the months of November and December, school board meetings may be scheduled once a month.
The agenda for each meeting is available on the district web site under the Board tab within 48 hours before a regularly scheduled meeting. All meetings are open to the public and we encourage you to attend. Public comment is a routine part of every regular business meeting and is noted on the agenda. At this time, members of the community may address the board. Comments should relate to items of public interest within the board’s jurisdiction. The law prohibits the board from taking action on items not on the agenda. Board members will not respond directly to the comments, but speakers are assured that their comments are very important and will be considered.
School board members encourage public participation and your input is appreciated. If you would like to address the school board, please sign-in at the meeting if in person, and on Zoom, please state your name at the beginning of your comments. The board chair will call your name when it is your turn to address the board.
The five board members are elected from their respective Director Districts for a four-year term. They are responsible for establishing educational goals, setting policy, hiring and evaluating the superintendent, ensuring that the superintendent and staff carry out district goals and policies in the manner that provides quality education for Chimacum students.
