Board of Education

The Chimacum School District is committed to high academic expectations and standards. We proactively work together to provide skills, knowledge, and resources to ensure a fully supportive environment for excellence in education for the entire community.

The Chimacum School Board meets regularly on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month starting at 6:00 PM. During the months of November and December, school board meetings may be scheduled once a month.

The agenda for each meeting is available on the district Web site within 48 hours before a regularly scheduled meeting and at the school board meeting. The first meeting of each month is a work study session and the second meeting is a business meeting. All meetings are open to the public and we encourage you to attend.

The board will provide time during the meeting for audience participation. At this time, members of the community may address the board on an item not on the agenda. Comments should relate to items of public interest within the board’s jurisdiction. The law prohibits the board from taking action on items not on the agenda. Board members will not normally respond directly to the comments, but speakers are assured that their comments are very important and will be addressed in a different forum.

School board members encourage public participation and your input is appreciated. If you would like to address the school board, please sign-in at the meeting.  The board chair will call your name when it is your turn to address the board.

The five board members are elected from their respective Director Districts for a four year term. They are responsible for establishing educational goals, setting policy, hiring the superintendent and ensuring that the superintendent and staff carry out the goals and policies in the manner that provides quality education for Chimacum students.
