Every month for the last two years Chimacum School District has been opening its doors and inviting community members to experience firsthand what makes our schools special. Through the Champions for Chimacum School Tours and Lunches, families and community members are welcome to step inside our classrooms, meet our students, and share a meal together.
These tours give our community an authentic look at what learning looks like in Chimacum schools. Guests join either a student guide or the school principal for a walk through our halls, with stops in classrooms, libraries, labs, and even our garden spaces, where students learn, explore, and grow every day. Along the way, visitors have the chance to see learning in action and hear directly from students about their experiences.
At the conclusion of each tour, guests are invited to enjoy a meal prepared by the Chimacum food service team. Because these meals are served during the regular lunch period, community members get the chance to sit side by side with students in the cafeteria. Sharing food and conversation provides a unique opportunity to connect with students and get a glimpse into their daily school life.
The Champions for Chimacum School Tours and Lunches are more than just visiting; they are about strengthening the connection between our schools and our community. By inviting community members inside, we hope to build a greater sense of shared pride and support for Chimacum students.
We encourage parents, grandparents, business owners, local organizations, and neighbors to join us for an upcoming tour. Come see what is happening in our classrooms, meet our amazing students and staff who make Chimacum a great place to learn, and grow.
